KTR’s call follows a Times Now report that highlighted internal objections by two Election Commissioners over voter‑roll decisions.
The report named Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, who have repeatedly flagged issues such as the deletion of valid voters, questionable new registrations and restricted access to the electoral roll database.
In a live interview with Times Now, KTR said an independent probe was essential to pinpoint who was responsible for the alleged irregularities and to safeguard public interest against intra‑commission disputes.
He added that the Election Commission’s functioning must remain transparent, especially when internal complaints threaten the credibility of elections.
KTR didn’t stop at the ECI; he turned his ire toward Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of ‘vote chori’ and demanding he address what he called ‘MLA chori’ in Telangana.
The BRS leader also raised a parallel alarm about a severe power crisis in Telangana, blaming the Congress government for a significant coal shortage from Singareni blocks. He claimed that thermal power plants have shut down due to inadequate supplies and that farmers now receive only six hours of electricity daily, a stark contrast to the 24‑hour supply under the previous K Chandrashekar Rao administration.
The Supreme Court has yet to respond to KTR’s demand, leaving the probe in limbo while opposition parties are pushing for a swift investigation.
