Karnataka Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi said on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not escalate the issue of the power struggle within the state's Congress party. Jarkiholi stated that the confusion over the change of leadership is a minor issue and that the Prime Minister should not attach greater importance to it.
Jarkiholi criticized the BJP, saying that while they criticize Congress government's guarantee schemes as a burden on the economy, they are winning polls in various states using similar guarantees.
The minister defended the five guarantees implemented in Karnataka, saying they have benefited the common people, and accused the BJP of copying these schemes in other poll-bound states.
Jarkiholi also said that development is not hindered by these guarantee schemes and that some opposition leaders are creating unnecessary confusion about programs that directly benefit the people.
The Karnataka Congress will likely continue to face scrutiny over its internal power struggle, and the state government's response to the BJP's criticism will be closely watched in the coming days. The state Congress leadership is expected to address the issue in the next party meeting.
