Financial stocks pulled the index higher, with Axis Bank up 1.0% to 3,421.07 and Bajaj Finance climbing 1.5% to 1,207.35. Auto stocks also recovered, Mahindra & Mahindra rising 2.0% to 1,772.60 and Tata Motors up 0.8% to 1,289.92.
Despite the daily gains, the Nifty has slipped 1.0% over the last week, a cumulative 6.2% drop from the 8‑week high, while the Sensex slid 0.6% week‑to‑week, reflecting broader market fatigue.
Analysts now focus on upcoming earnings, with Axis Bank expected to report Q1 revenue of ₹3,000 crore against estimates of ₹2,850 crore. Mahindra & Mahindra’s next report on June 15 is anticipated to show a 12% YoY revenue rise.
