Farah Khan Calls Lock Upp Season 2 Her 'Dream Job' Amid Netflix's New Jailhouse Drama

At a bustling FICCI Frames event, Farah Khan let slip that stepping into the role of a jail‑house host was the closest thing she’s ever had to a dream job – a sentiment that resonated with the crowd of industry insiders.

Her journey into the world of reality TV wasn’t accidental. Years of directing films and choreographing music videos taught her to keep the narrative moving; she famously told actors in the past to cut long pauses, a habit that translated into a no‑script, high‑energy YouTube shoot before Netflix called.

When Riteish Deshmukh joined the cast of hosts, the duo faced a flood of suggestions about how they should present themselves. “Riteish found his groove, and I found mine,” she quipped, pointing to the ease with which they let their personalities spill onto the screen without an over‑the‑top polish.

Farah’s approach to contestants was unapologetically candid – she didn’t shy away from calling out misbehaviour, even if it meant appearing biased. Riteish kept her in check, pausing her when a temper flare could have alienated the audience. The climax of the season saw Shreya Kalra clutch a ₹1 crore trophy, a moment that cemented the show’s appeal.

Beyond the glitz, the experience had a personal side: “I became cool with my kids and their friends,” she laughed, noting how teenage girls now tag themselves as “Lock Upp pagloos” whenever they spot her. Netflix, riding the wave of the season’s success, has already confirmed a third installment with Farah and Riteish back in the mix.

So, what’s next? Fans can expect Farah Khan to keep pushing the envelope of reality TV, marrying her choreographic flair with the rawness of human drama, making Season 3 a must‑watch for anyone craving entertainment that feels both polished and punchy.
