Tamil Nadu Government Formation Hits Roadblock as TVK Falls Short of Majority

Tamil Nadu is witnessing a high-stakes drama over government formation, with TVK chief Vijay approaching the Governor with a coalition government bid that falls short of the majority mark of 118. DMK leader TKS Elangovan has slammed Vijay, advising him to first collect support from political parties before approaching the Governor.
According to Elangovan, if Vijay had approached the Governor alone with 107 seats, he would have been invited to form the government as the single-largest party and then prove his strength in the House. However, with the support of a few parties, the government will now wait for an absolute majority.
The TVK had initially claimed to have a majority with AMMK's support, but AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran accused TVK of forging a letter from his party's MLA-elect. TVK has refuted the claim, accusing Dhinakaran of spreading misinformation.
The situation in Tamil Nadu remains uncertain, with smaller parties like the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the VCK withholding their support for TVK. The VCK is expected to make its stance clear today, with sources suggesting that party chief Thol Thirumavalavan will meet Vijay later today.
The court will likely hear the case related to the forged letter, and the Governor will wait for an absolute majority before inviting any party to form the government. The immediate next steps will depend on the outcome of these developments.
