Arjun, a 17‑year‑old from Sai Nagar Part‑2, was discovered hanging by the rope from a window of a girl’s residence in the Shiv Shakti Enclave of Faridabad on Thursday evening.
The boy’s father, Bhushan, a native of Bihar’s Nalanda district, arrived shortly after police and immediately accused the girl’s family of murder, citing that Arjun had been taken from school around 2 pm and was killed by the household.
In contrast, the girl’s relatives maintained that Arjun had harassed their daughter and that he had entered the home late that night, dying by suicide. They claimed police had recorded their statements and that the incident was under investigation.
Inspector Rakesh Kumar, SHO of Kheri Pul police station, confirmed that the body was transported to BK Hospital for a post‑mortem and that two officers sustained injuries when stones were thrown during the ensuing chaos. He added that additional forces were deployed to quell the crowd.
The protestors vandalised the house, smashing windows and scrawling slogans on the walls before retreating. Local residents reported that the unrest began when the boy’s relatives confronted the girl’s family and escalated into a full‑blown confrontation with police.
Authorities are now probing the circumstances surrounding Arjun’s death, while the families await the post‑mortem findings. The incident has reignited debates over student safety and the handling of school‑related disputes in Haryana.
