The Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd (TSNPDCL) has introduced a safety initiative titled 'One Minute Rule' to ensure the highest standards of employee safety in the power sector. Under this initiative, employees are required to pause for one minute before commencing any fieldwork to assess and ensure that all safety protocols are in place.
Chairman and Managing Director of TSNPDCL K. Varun Reddy stated that the 'One Minute Rule' would mandate a brief pause by every field staff member before starting work to verify that all safety conditions were met.
Meanwhile, the State Government is implementing the PM-KUSUM scheme to strengthen the economic condition of farmers by promoting renewable energy. The scheme allows farmers to establish solar power plants with capacities ranging from 0.5 MW to 2.0 MW on their lands.
The State Government is offering several incentives to encourage participation in the scheme, including exemption from NALA conversion charges and 50% SGST reimbursement. The government plans to increase the renewable energy generation capacity to 29,645 MW by 2029-30.
The TSNPDCL and the State Government will continue to monitor and implement these initiatives to ensure workforce safety and promote renewable energy among farmers. The State Government will also review the progress of the PM-KUSUM scheme and provide further incentives as needed.
