Polavaram District Collector K. Dinesh Kumar has ordered a probe into the death of Rajavommangi Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) D. Sujatha, who died on May 6 after reportedly consuming poison on May 5. The collector stated the inquiry will be conducted by ITDA-Rampachodavaram in-charge Subham Nokwal, who will submit a report on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Sujatha was undergoing treatment at a government hospital when she was declared dead. Her husband, D. Vijay Sai, filed a grievance alleging she had been harassed by senior officials, a claim now under investigation. The district administration has not confirmed the cause of death beyond the reported suicide attempt.
The inquiry officer is expected to complete the investigation promptly, with findings to be reviewed by district authorities. The court or administrative review, if any, will follow based on the probe report.
