The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Tirupati district unit launched its 'Janata Varadhi' programme on Friday, receiving public grievances on civic and welfare-related issues. The programme, held at the party office in Tirupati, saw residents from the city and nearby villages submit representations seeking resolution of various issues.
The grievances received included complaints from unorganised workers about the cumbersome procedures involved in the registration and renewal of A.P. Labour Cards and Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) cards. BJP district general secretary K. Naresh Babu and district vice-president Anusha Ramakrishna, convener and co-convener of the 'Janata Varadhi' initiative, said the grievances would be compiled and forwarded to the District Collector for necessary action.
Anusha Ramakrishna noted that the working classes were being deprived of benefits due to complicated claim procedures, lack of cooperation from building contractors, poor coordination among departments, and inadequate awareness among beneficiaries.
The programme was attended by several party officials, including former district general secretary Thanja Mohan and BJYM district president Parthasarathy. The BJP's Tirupati district unit will now compile the grievances and forward them to the District Collector, who is expected to take necessary action to address the issues raised by the public.
