Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday (May 10, 2026) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a special task force in the Prime Minister's Office to expedite central government clearances for key state projects. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad where the Prime Minister inaugurated multiple projects, Reddy called for a single-window mechanism to address delays in approvals that are hindering development in major urban centers.
The Chief Minister listed several stalled initiatives, including Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase II A and B, the Musi River rejuvenation project, Bharat Future City, and a dedicated expressway linking Machilipatnam and Future City. He stated that despite repeated representations to Union ministers, clearances have not been granted, and urged the Prime Minister to personally review the proposals and allocate time for their swift processing.
Reddy emphasized Telangana's commitment to national growth, citing the state's plan to contribute $3 trillion to the national economy by 2047—10% of India's $30 trillion target—despite having less than 3% of the country's population. He referenced Gujarat's development under Modi's leadership and appealed for similar support for Telangana, which aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034.
The state government has aligned its Telangana Rising Vision 2047 with the Centre's Viksit Bharat 2047 framework. No official response from the Prime Minister or the PMO was provided immediately after the appeal. The matter is expected to be reviewed in upcoming inter-ministerial discussions.
