Iran has begun an extensive clean‑up at the bombed Minzadayi nuclear compound in early September, as shown by high‑resolution satellite images from Vantor Technologies.
The Minzadayi complex, once a central hub for Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, sustained heavy damage during a U.S. strike in 2019, according to statements from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vantor Technologies, a U.S.-based satellite imaging firm, released the imagery on September 2, showing bulldozers clearing rubble and workers setting up containment barriers.
The cleanup marks a shift from the site’s previous status as a military target to a potential redevelopment zone, analysts noted, citing the heightened focus on decontamination within Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Iran has ordered a safety assessment of the site to ensure it is free of radioactive contamination before any future use, the Ministry of Energy said in a brief statement.
