Kuvempu University Awards Honorary Doctorate to Former Legislator Konandur Lingappa

Kuvempu University awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters to socialist leader and former legislator Konandur Lingappa at his residence in Shivamogga on Friday. The degree was conferred in recognition of his contributions to public service and social justice.
State Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa, who is also in-charge of Shivamogga district, along with Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy and Zilla Panchayat CEO N. Hemanth, serving as university registrar, presented the award and felicitated Lingappa during the ceremony.
Bangarappa praised Lingappa as a dedicated socialist and sincere former legislator, stating the honour was well deserved. During the visit, the minister also discussed proposed changes in the school education system with Lingappa.
The university confirmed the conferral was completed as part of its annual academic honours. No further official action is pending.
