Outgoing Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday (May 9, 2026) congratulated C. Joseph Vijay following his swearing-in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Vijayan, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and member of its Polit Bureau, extended the greetings in a formal message.
Vijayan said the people of Tamil Nadu have placed their trust in Vijay and expressed hope that this would lead to a government committed to social justice, secularism and public welfare. He highlighted the longstanding ties between Kerala and Tamil Nadu, calling for deeper collaboration between the two states.
The outgoing CM stressed the role of state governments in preserving India's federal structure and secular fabric. He wrote that both states can jointly contribute to national unity through democratic and inclusive governance. The court will resume hearing on Tuesday.
