Techno Sportswear, a leading activewear manufacturer with facilities in Tamil Nadu, will expand its operations to Odisha, according to Managing Director and co-founder Sunil Jhunjhunwala. The company recently received $25 million in private equity from A91 Partners and has invested in plants under the Central government's Production Linked Intensive Scheme, manufacturing 25 tonnes of fabric daily.
The expansion to Odisha is part of the company's growth strategy, which includes strengthening its production and increasing its export potential, particularly in West and South East Asian countries.
Techno Sportswear has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Odisha government and plans to set up a garmenting unit in the state, leveraging its port, workforce, and raw material availability.
The company has also registered its brand in over two dozen countries and aims to increase its topline to ₹1,000 crore this year, after clocking ₹600 crore in 2025-2026. The company employs around 2,000 people and has 51 own stores, with plans to add another 80 this fiscal, according to CEO Puspen Maity.
The Odisha government is expected to provide further details on the Memorandum of Understanding and the proposed garmenting unit in the coming weeks, while Techno Sportswear will focus on finalizing its expansion plans and increasing its production capacity.
