West Bengal Police Seize Vehicle in Suvendu Adhikari Aide's Murder Probe

West Bengal Police have seized a four-wheeler linked to the murder of Chandra, personal assistant to state Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, in Madhyamgram on Wednesday. Director General of Police Siddh Nath Gupta said live rounds and fired cartridges were recovered from the scene, and investigators are examining evidence including eyewitness accounts.
Gupta confirmed the seized vehicle had a tampered number plate, suggesting an attempt to conceal identities. He stated the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been announced yet. Forensic teams are processing the crime scene and vehicle for further leads.
BJP leaders, including Sujay Kumar Dey, alleged the attack was targeted and premeditated, accusing the Trinamool Congress of attempting to instill fear in the region. Dey claimed only Chandra was targeted despite others being present, calling it a message of dominance.
The Trinamool Congress condemned the killing and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. The West Bengal government has not yet responded to the demand. The police will continue investigation and are expected to file a preliminary report within 48 hours.
