Mohanlal has suggested that the Drishyam film series may extend to a fourth and fifth instalment, contingent on audience reception of Drishyam 3. The actor made the remarks during the trailer launch event for the upcoming film in May 2026, stating, 'I have asked for Georgekutty to be saved multiple times, but he is still not saved. So you can expect a Drishyam 4 also.'
He emphasized the comment was not a joke, adding, 'This is not a joke. Let people watch the film and let them decide whether we should do a sequel, like four or five.' Producer Antony Perumbavoor has already discussed the possibility of a fifth film, even before a fourth is confirmed.
The Drishyam franchise, directed by Jeethu Joseph, began in 2013 and became one of Malayalam cinema's most successful thriller series. Drishyam 2 premiered digitally in 2021 due to the pandemic, and the series has seen remakes in Hindi, Telugu, and other languages.
Drishyam 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on May 21, 2026. The production team will assess audience and box office response before making decisions on further sequels.
