Modi Visits Shri Vinayak Temple in Delhi to Celebrate 25 Years in Office

Modi stepped into the dimly lit sanctum of Shri Vinayak Mandir, offering a handful of incense sticks and chanting mantras before the statue of Lord Ganesha. He posted a brief video on X, saying, “Today, I performed worship and rituals at the Shri Vinayak Temple in New Delhi. I prayed to Lord Shri Ganesha for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of my family members across the country. May the grace of Vighnaharta bring welfare to all, and may the nation continue to advance on the path of continuous progress.”

The 25‑year milestone traces back to October 7, 2001, when Modi was sworn in as Chief Minister of Gujarat, a post he held until May 2014. He then entered the national spotlight as Prime Minister, a position he has occupied ever since. His tenure has seen sweeping reforms across finance, agriculture, and digital infrastructure.

The Union Cabinet, meeting on Tuesday, approved a resolution congratulating Modi on his quarter‑century of leadership. The resolution noted his “unwavering commitment to public service and visionary leadership” and urged the country to “continue advancing on the path of continuous progress.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted a heartfelt tribute on X, praising Modi’s “Nation‑First” ethos and stating that the Prime Minister’s 25‑year journey “reflects an unwavering commitment to public service, resolute determination, visionary leadership, and the spirit of Nation First.”

A local shopkeeper in Sarojini Nagar, who had sold incense to devotees for 17 years, said the temple’s crowd was “bigger than ever.” He added that the presence of the Prime Minister “brought a sense of pride to the community.”
