Volunteers from the Ukkunagaram Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi and the Duvvada Railway Users Association distributed one-litre bottled water to approximately 216 passengers aboard the Amaravathi Express at Duvvada railway station on Sunday, May 10, 2026. The distribution occurred during the train's two-minute stoppage between Shalimar and Vasco-da-Gama, with volunteers handing bottles directly through doors and windows due to limited platform access.
The service drive, guided by the principle 'Manava Seva Madhava Seva' (Service to Man is Service to God), specifically prioritised women, elderly, and differently-abled passengers travelling in general coaches. The initiative has been ongoing for 14 days as part of a broader community outreach effort.
Organised by Sanyasi Raju, convenor of the Samithi, the campaign received financial backing from the Ukkunagaram Sri Sathya Sai Samithi in Visakhapatnam. The distribution is expected to continue at the station in the coming days as part of the group's sustained public service activities.
