Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs in an Indian Premier League match in Jaipur on Saturday, posting 229/4 and restricting the hosts to 152 all out. Skipper Shubman Gill scored 84 off 49 balls and Rashid Khan took four wickets for 33 runs, leading both on-field and online after the win.
Gujarat’s total was built on a 118-run opening stand between Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who made 55. Washington Sundar (37 not out) and Rahul Tewatia added late impetus, helping the Titans reach their highest score of the season. Rajasthan’s chase began with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashing 36 off 16 balls, but the innings collapsed after his dismissal.
Rashid Khan dismantled the middle order with 4/33, supported by two wickets from Kagiso Rabada and three from Jason Holder. The win moved Gujarat to second place in the IPL standings and marked their largest victory by runs in league history.
Gill and Rashid later posted a joint image on social media mimicking the 'fingers in ears' celebration with the caption 'Pink city, blue result. Khamma Ghani,' referencing Gujarat’s blue kits and playfully taunting the Royals. The IPL season continues with the next round of fixtures scheduled for the coming week.
