Three IT Employees Arrested for MDMA Possession and Sale in Hayathnagar
Three IT employees were arrested in Hayathnagar on Wednesday for possession and alleged sale of MDMA. The Excise State Task Force B Team seized 7.44 grams of the drug during an operation. The accused, identified as Anjad, Hemant, and Harish, are software professionals linked to the drug network.
Anjad, a Saman Nagar resident, allegedly shifted to drug peddling after losing his IT job. Hemant, based in Bengaluru, is accused of financing the operation and procuring 10 grams of MDMA from Bengaluru at ₹2,000 per gram. Harish was caught when he allegedly purchased the contraband in Hyderabad, where it was sold between ₹8,000 and ₹10,000 per gram.
The task force, led by CI Biksha Reddy and SSI Balaraju, handed over the seized drugs and suspects to Hayathnagar Excise Station for further investigation. B Team leader Pradeep Rao confirmed ongoing inquiries to trace other members of the supply chain.
The accused face charges under narcotic laws. Officials stated the case is under active investigation, with authorities monitoring potential links to broader drug networks.
