Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a major public rally at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on May 10, 2026, in an event the BJP hailed as evidence of its expanding base in Telangana. State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said the turnout, with crowds nearly double the venue's capacity, signaled a political shift and predicted the party would form the next state government.
The rally coincided with the BJP's observance of Hyderabad Liberation Day and Modi's birthday, which Rao described as reflecting the Prime Minister's emotional connection to the region. The Centre announced development projects worth ₹9,700 crore for Telangana, while Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy cited ₹1.85 lakh crore allocated for national highways and highlighted new rail initiatives, including five Vande Bharat trains and modernization of 42 railway stations.
Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar attacked both the former BRS and current Congress state governments, accusing them of dynastic rule, corruption, and failing to deliver on electoral promises. Senior BJP leaders from across districts attended, and party workers arrived from remote areas, many using the city's metro to reach the venue.
Saffron flags and Modi cutouts filled the Parade Grounds as the party showcased its organizational reach. BJP leaders described the gathering as a demonstration of strength ahead of upcoming civic body elections.
The party will intensify campaign activities across urban centers in the coming weeks as it prepares for the civic polls, with senior leadership expected to conduct regular outreach in the state.
