Divya Mittal, a former IAS officer who served as special secretary in Lucknow's Revenue Department, said on April 15, 2024 that she will launch an independent political platform in Uttar Pradesh, weeks before the 2027 assembly polls.
Mittal, who earned degrees from IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore and traded on Wall Street, cited a 75‑year‑old village in Halia block where a school approved three years ago remains unfinished, and a landless farmer in Lucknow whose allotment papers were withdrawn after a clerical error.
She said she will not join any existing party, instead building a citizen‑driven movement that rejects money, muscle power, caste and religious calculations.
Mittal described Uttar Pradesh as her "karmabhoomi", claiming the state's people had treated her like a daughter during her tenure as district magistrate in Deoria, Mirzapur and Sant Kabir Nagar.
The next step, according to Mittal, will be to form a grassroots coalition and register her platform ahead of the April 2027 elections, with the first public meeting scheduled for early June.
