Elara Capital’s new coverage on GE Vernova T&D India, Siemens Energy India, and Hitachi Energy India landed on Tuesday, with the brokerage giving a "buy" to the first and a "sell" to the last. The moves arrive as GE Vernova T&D shares hovered near ₹4,195, a price that sits just 4% below the broker’s ₹5,547 target.
The 12‑point target from Elara sits above consensus estimates, which peg the stock at ₹4,950 for the next quarter. The brokerage cites the firm’s robust pipeline of transmission and distribution contracts and a 6% YoY uptick in revenue as key drivers.
Siemens Energy India received an "accumulate" rating with a ₹3,699 target, up 3% from last week’s level of ₹3,640. Hitachi Energy India, meanwhile, faces a harsh outlook; its 2026 guidance falls 12% short of the ₹29,190 target set by Elara.
The brokerage stresses that the transmission‑distribution market is entering a mid‑cycle, with projected ₹15 lakh crore domestic opportunity by FY2026 and a $606 billion global grid spend by 2029. That environment should lift demand for transformers, switchgear, and HVDC equipment, driving earnings growth for the three groups.
Looking ahead, Elara warns that delays in high‑voltage project approvals could temper the upside. It expects the next earnings cycle to hinge on how quickly the industry clears regulatory hurdles and ramps up manufacturing capacity.
Investors will be watching Elara’s updated valuation framework, which suggests that any margin expansion or execution improvement could quickly alter the stock’s risk‑return profile. The brokerage’s guidance pins the next earnings call for GE Vernova T&D in the first quarter of FY2027.
