EU Ambassador Jean‑Eric Paquet will speak at the NDTV World Summit in New Delhi on Oct. 22‑23, 2026, in a session titled "The West, Rewired: The New Transatlantic Order" at 3 p.m. on Day 1.
Paquet’s diplomatic career began with the European Commission in 1993, where he worked on international transport relations, and he has since held several senior posts including Deputy Secretary‑General of the Commission and Director‑General for Research and Innovation.
Before his current posting, he served as EU Ambassador to Mauritania from 2004 to 2007 and as Ambassador to Japan from September 2022 to August 2026, where he focused on EU‑Japan trade and innovation ties.
The NDTV World Summit 2026, themed "A World Between Orders", will convene leaders, policymakers, and business figures to debate how global shifts reshape national trajectories.
Paquet will share the stage with Australian High Commissioner Philip Green, and the session’s emphasis will be on recalibrating transatlantic alliances amid rising geopolitical tensions.
