Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar's son, Bhageerath, has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Hyderabad, following allegations of sexual harassment of a 17-year-old minor girl. The case was registered after the girl's mother filed a complaint, stating that Bhageerath, who was in a relationship with her daughter, sexually harassed her.
According to the police, the alleged relationship began about seven-eight months ago, and they are yet to examine the girl, who is a student.
Bhageerath has filed a counter-complaint with the police in Karimnagar, alleging that the girl and her parents intimidated him to marry her and demanded ₹5,00,00,000 after he rejected the proposal. He claimed that he paid ₹50,000 to the girl's father out of fear, but they continued to demand more money.
The police are investigating both complaints, and the girl is yet to be examined. The immediate next steps will involve further investigation and possible arrests, with the police expected to take statements from all parties involved in the coming days. The court will likely hear the case soon, with a date expected to be announced in the near future.
