The Telangana government will observe May 11 to 17, 2026 as Education Week to showcase its efforts to improve government schools and enhance education quality across the state, an official release said Sunday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who holds the education portfolio, will inaugurate the initiative at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on May 11.
The programme, part of the government's Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika initiative, aims to transform schools into vibrant centres of learning and holistic development, Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas said in a statement. It will feature launches of infrastructure projects and academic initiatives in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) and highlight improvements in learning facilities, teacher support, and inclusive education.
Statewide activities will include student achievement events, creative exhibitions, teacher recognition, enrolment drives, and community awareness programmes, modeled on the agriculture-focused Rythu Varothsavalu campaign. The week seeks to encourage participation from students, teachers, parents, and local communities.
The government will continue monitoring the implementation of education initiatives following the week-long events, with officials expected to review progress and participation levels by May 18.
