Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) in Mysuru hosted Open Day 2026 on Sunday, with VVCE president Gundappa Gowda, secretary P. Vishwanath, and other dignitaries in attendance. The event provided an opportunity for aspiring engineering students and parents to explore academic excellence, innovation, and career opportunities in engineering education.
The VVCE principal, B. Sadashive Gowda, highlighted the institution's academic and research achievements, stating that it ranks first in Mysuru city in faculty paper publications, 9th in Karnataka, and among the top 300 institutions in the country.
Associate vice-president of Infosys Ltd Mysuru, Sundar K.S., stressed the importance of engineering in a technology-driven world and encouraged students to become effective problem solvers and business transformation partners.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, faculty members, and alumni, with departments showcasing projects, laboratories, and innovations. The college has awarded scholarships worth ₹1.08 crore to deserving students and has a strong industry-academia connect, with several companies functioning on the VVCE campus.
The VVCE will continue to focus on providing holistic student development and facilitating effective industry-academia partnerships, with the next steps including counseling and admissions processes for aspiring students.
