Tata Chemicals’ market cap was ₹19,853 crore, according to NSE data.
The company also holds a 2.5% stake in Tata Sons, which, if valued at ₹10 lakh crore, would be worth ₹25,000 crore.
Other Tata group stocks reflected the optimism: Tata Investments rose 5.5%, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles 4.5%, and Tata Steel 2.8% on BSE.
Afcons Infrastructure, part of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, gained 3.3% after the RBI’s guidance on the listing, while Gokak Textiles surged 9.2% on BSE.
Seven listed Tata companies collectively own 11.9% of Tata Sons, and a successful IPO could unlock value for these shareholders, analysts say.
The market closed largely flat, but the rally in Tata group stocks underscores investors’ appetite for the potential listing, which could reduce Shapoorji Pallonji Group’s ₹55,000 crore debt burden.
