Pamela Anderson sat beside gymnast Simone Biles and actress Dakota Johnson at The Pool restaurant in Manhattan’s Seagram Building, where the fifth‑annual Caring for Women Dinner, organized by the Kering Foundation, pulled in a record $5,165,000 for gender‑violence charities during New York Fashion Week.
The evening’s high‑profile cast included Benicio Del Toro, polo star Nacho Figueras, and artist Lorna Simpson, while Colman Domingo hosted and Lydia Fenet ran a live auction that yielded $165,000 for Simpson’s collages, $130,000 for a palmetto diamond necklace, and $45,000 for a Dataland experience.
Four organisations will receive the funds: Activating Change focuses on disability justice and violence against people with disabilities; Fondo Semillas champions Mexican feminist grassroots movements; JBWS provides crisis intervention and shelter in New Jersey; and The New York Women’s Foundation backs community initiatives on gender, race, and economic inequality.
The Kering Foundation, chaired by François‑Henri Pinault, announced that it will distribute the money among the beneficiaries within the month, aiming to match each donation with a specific program or service.
With this dinner, the Foundation’s five‑year total surpasses $20 million, up from $4.5 million raised in 2025, underscoring its growing influence in the fight against gender‑based violence.
Next week, the Foundation will host a virtual briefing to detail how the allocations will be implemented, with representatives from each charity expected to share their upcoming projects.
