The 22,000‑square‑foot waterfront property, built between 2008 and 2012, once boasted seven bedrooms, an 80‑foot pool and a six‑car garage.
Shortly after the sale, Ellison Construction filed a demolition permit in January 2024, promising a 30,000‑square‑foot replacement with six bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and an expansive green space. The permit, slated to begin construction in March, expired in December 2023 without any new approvals.
Ellison has not filed any subsequent permits, and Hillsborough County records show only routine tax filings. Meanwhile, entrepreneur Sidd Pagidipati and his wife listed the address as their primary residence in 2023, securing a homestead exemption for the trust.
Neighbors have expressed frustration, recalling the mansion’s nickname, the "Great Wall of Jeter," and lament that the property sits frozen amid a stalled redevelopment plan. Local officials say the county will review the vacant lot’s status at its next board meeting in early June.
Until a new developer steps forward or the trust reconsiders, 58 Bahama Circle remains a relic of Tampa’s celebrity past, its grand future still up in the air.
