A Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party cadre staged a solo protest near Lok Bhavan in Chennai on Friday, demanding that Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar invite party leader C. Joseph Vijay to form the government in the state without delay. The protester, identified as Suresh, an assistant of film director S.A. Chandrasekar, was apprehended by police and sent away after being warned not to protest in the area without permission.
