Megan Schutt will miss the final Australia‑New Zealand T20I and her Strikers’ WBBL opener after Cricket Australia slapped her with a two‑match ban for a medication breach.
The 33‑year‑old bowler had just finished a blistering ODI series against Bangladesh, taking 10 wickets at a stingy 7.1 average and earning Player of the Series.
CA said the offence involved a single incident outside competition, a failure to follow Sports Science and Sports Medicine guidelines around prescription medication, and was not performance‑enhancing.
Schutt accepted the sanction, apologising for not meeting the standards expected of players and vowing to adhere to the guidelines in the future.
Australia will now rely on other pace options for the decisive match, while Adelaide Strikers must shuffle their bowling lineup for the season opener.
The final T20I will be played on Thursday, and the WBBL season kicks off on Oct 31.
