Farhan's 238 runs set a new T20I record in the Pakistan‑Sri Lanka series, eclipsing Abhishek Sharma’s 229‑run haul against Afghanistan.
Pakistan clinched the series 2‑1 after beating Sri Lanka by four wickets in the opener and 82 runs in the second match. The final game saw Sri Lanka chase 168/8, with Kusal Mendis batting unbeaten 87 off 47.
Farhan, the new captain, delivered 76 off 47 in the final, his third consecutive fifty, while his overall 238 out of 298 runs in the series made him the top scorer.
After the match, Farhan said, "We followed the same plan as in the earlier games, but cricket is unpredictable. When I perform well, I focus even more on the next match." Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis praised the team’s bowling, fielding and batting, noting, "We bowled really well today in the middle period, and the fielding was better too. Kamindu batted really well after the Powerplay."
With this new benchmark, Pakistan’s T20I reputation is cemented, and the team now looks ahead to the upcoming series against Bangladesh.
