Mahesh Tenginakai, Hubballi Dharwad Central MLA, said on Friday that the elevated road project around Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi is expected to be opened for traffic by December-end. According to Tenginakai, 70% of the flyover work has been completed, and the remaining work will be finished in a couple of months.
The MLA reviewed the project's progress and performed a bhoomi puja for the concrete road opposite the IT Park in Hubballi. Tenginakai stated that the road work would be completed within four months.
A delegation led by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and secured ₹13 cr of additional grants for laying concrete roads beneath the elevated road.
The officials have promised to complete the work to lay concrete roads at important junctions within a month and a half. The court or relevant authorities have not announced any immediate next steps, but the Public Works Department officials are under pressure to expedite the work and complete it at the earliest. The MLA was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Santosh Chavan and other officials during the review.
