Sharma and Khan had been linked for about two years, with Khan reportedly pressuring her to stay in a relationship he claimed she was reluctant to maintain, culminating in threats and stalking.
Investigators recovered deleted phone data, CCTV footage from hotels and restaurants, and evidence of threatening messages that show Khan’s intent, while Lata Sharma, the victim’s 48‑year‑old mother, said she was devastated by the news.
Both accused remain in judicial custody; a hearing is set for September 15, after which the court will decide on Khan’s bail and the prosecution will file a murder case under section 103(1).
