Indian Army Marks Operation Sindoor Anniversary, Asserts Response Was Calibrated and Precise
The Indian Army released a video on Wednesday marking the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, describing India’s retaliation as resolute, calibrated and precise. The post, captioned #JusticeServed, reiterated a commitment to safeguard sovereignty and protect citizens.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists. Airstrikes targeted nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, eliminating at least 100 militants, including facilities linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The strikes triggered retaliatory action by Pakistan against military and civilian sites, which Indian forces thwarted. Hostilities de-escalated after hotline talks between army officials, leading to a mutual halt in military operations on May 10.
India has since maintained that it will not accept nuclear blackmail and will make no distinction between terrorists and those who enable them. The army’s anniversary message underscores continuity in that posture, with military readiness held as the immediate benchmark.
