Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran have clarified that a viral video showing Pooran grabbing Pandya's collar after an Indian Premier League (IPL) match was not a sign of trouble between them. The incident happened after a game between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, where Pooran was seen reacting to being bowled sharp bouncers by Pandya.
The video sparked speculation of a serious fallout, but both players have since taken to social media to express their friendship and downplay the incident. Krunal Pandya posted a light-hearted message on Instagram, congratulating Pooran on completing 100 IPL games and joking about the bouncers he bowled.
Pooran responded in the comments, stating there was only love between them and referring to Pandya as one of his best mates. The two players were teammates at Lucknow Super Giants during IPL 2023 and 2024, which likely explains the playful nature of their exchange.
The incident has been put to rest by the players' social media posts, and the focus will now shift to the upcoming matches in the IPL schedule. The league will continue with its scheduled fixtures, with teams competing for the top spots in the points table.
