In a blistering finish at Guangzhou, 6‑year‑old Lian Yunzhi shattered the women’s Rubik’s Cube average record, averaging 4.27 seconds.
The move came just three days after she clocked 4.52 in Wuhan, and she even punched a 4.02 single‑solve, a blistering 4‑second burst that left the crowd roaring.
Lian’s coach, a former national champion, says she trains two to three hours daily, juggling over 1,300 solving algorithms that she memorises like a kid’s spell book.
Her mother, Lin Yangxi, credits the cube with sharpening her daughter’s concentration and logic, adding that the young prodigy has already been flown to Shanghai for elite coaching.
With the record under 4.5 seconds, Lian now stands alone in the world’s female speedcubing history and sets a new bar for the upcoming World Cube Association championships.
