Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday appealed to BJP workers and supporters not to believe allegations levelled against him and his family, asserting that he would never indulge in any act that could bring disrepute to the party. The allegations against Kumar stem from a case registered against his son under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Hyderabad.
Kumar's remarks were made at a public meeting held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, where he also called upon party workers to remain united and expressed confidence that the BJP would come to power in Telangana.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded Kumar's removal from the Union Cabinet over the allegations, which he has denied.
The case against Kumar's son is ongoing, and the Minister has stated that he will fight those trying to tarnish his image.
The court is expected to continue hearing the case, and the BJP is likely to respond to the allegations in the coming days. The Telangana state government and the BRS are expected to monitor the situation closely.
