Over a decade, CZI invested more than $125 million in the initiative, a figure highlighted by a Wall Street Journal profile that praised its ambition to tackle factors beyond the classroom that influence learning.
CZI’s new commitment of over $10 million will fund community services, including a $3 million grant to the Children’s Health Council, $3 million to Ravenswood Family Health Network for school‑based health care, and $1 million to Ravenswood Early Learning for early intervention.
Parents of displaced students say the transition will be difficult; The San Francisco Chronicle reports that CZI is providing bridge funding to help families move children into the Ravenswood City School District.
