Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Results Show 95.2% Pass Rate

The Tamil Nadu Class 12 State Board exams results, announced by School Education Secretary B. Chandra Mohan in Chennai on May 8, 2026, showed a pass rate of 95.2%, up from 95.03% in 2025. A total of 791,654 students appeared for the exams across 3,412 centers, down slightly from 792,494 the previous year.
Girls achieved a pass rate of 97%, with 410,000 female candidates, while 370,000 male candidates recorded a 93.19% pass rate. Erode district led with a 98.8% pass rate, followed by Sivaganga at 98.05%. Among school types, private schools scored highest at 98.72%, government schools at 92.16%, and government-aided schools at 96.14%. A total of 2,639 schools, including 489 government schools, achieved 100% results.
Of the 8,855 candidates with disabilities, 6,811 passed; 238 of 250 prison inmates cleared the exam. There were 16,024 subject centums, led by 6,945 in Computer Science. Tamil saw 83 centums, down from 135 in 2025. The arrear exam, held after discontinuing Class 11 public exams, had 20,444 candidates, with 8,491 passing.

Students can access scanned answer sheets from May 12 to May 16 and apply for revaluation from June 5 to June 8.
Supplementary exams for Class 12 will be conducted from June 29 to July 7, and for Class 11 (arrears) from July 8 to July 16. Applications for supplementary exams open May 18 and close June 2.
