Assam to Have 18-19 Ministers in New BJP-Led Government

Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that the state is likely to have around 18-19 ministers in the new BJP-led NDA government. The final list of ministers will be decided after discussions with National President JP Nadda, who is arriving in Guwahati on Sunday evening.
The BJP-led NDA government in Assam is set to take oath for a third consecutive term on May 12 in the presence of Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.
Sarma highlighted the government's priorities for the next five years, saying that the NDA government would continue to work steadily for the welfare and development of Assam.
The Assam government's oath-taking ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior NDA leaders. The ceremony will take place on May 12 at the Veterinary College Playground in Guwahati.
The next step will be the swearing-in ceremony of the new council of ministers, which will take place on May 12, after which the government will begin working on its priorities for the next five years.
