Jio Platforms opened on October 28 on the BSE and NSE at ₹1,358 per share, a 21% premium to the ₹1,119 issue price, giving the company a market capitalisation of over ₹12.5 lakh crore.
Taher Badshah, Chief Investment Officer of Invesco Mutual Fund, said the listing “unlocks a very large consumer name that was previously embedded within Reliance Industries.” He added that the move provides a “nice addition to the overall consumer list” and that the company “now actually becomes unlocked for investors.”
The telecom sector, which Jio dominates, is seen by analysts as a steady growth engine. Badshah noted that leading telecoms trade at “reasonable valuations,” signalling that Jio’s entry could spur a broader re‑valuation of consumer‑centric telecom stocks.
With the listing complete, investors will now track Jio’s standalone performance. The next earnings quarter is expected on December 31, and analysts are monitoring the company’s ability to leverage its digital ecosystem for future revenue growth.
