IUML Meets to Decide on Support for TVK-Led Tamil Nadu Government Formation

The Indian Union Muslim League is holding a high-level meeting to determine its stance on supporting actor C. Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in forming the Tamil Nadu government. The decision comes after Left parties and smaller allies extended support to the TVK, which won 108 seats in the May 2026 Assembly elections.

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is convening a high-level committee meeting led by Kader Mohideen to decide whether to support the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), headed by actor C. Joseph Vijay, in forming the Tamil Nadu government after the 2026 Assembly elections. The party, which previously stated it would not back any post-poll alliance, is expected to announce its decision soon, a senior leader said on Thursday.
