GPT Infraprojects Ltd. announced on Thursday it has secured a ₹483.72 crore contract, inclusive of GST, from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL). The deal covers the construction of Important Bridge 544, a 32x65.84-metre open web steel girder structure spanning the Mahanadi River in Odisha. This infrastructure push is part of the third and fourth railway lines connecting the Nergundi-Barang section under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway.
The base value of the project is ₹409.94 crore, with a strict execution timeline of 1,095 days from the appointed date. RVNL’s Chief Project Manager in Bhubaneswar awarded the contract, classifying it under bridge works for Railways. GPT Infraprojects clarified in its filing that there is no promoter or group company interest in RVNL, and the deal does not constitute a related-party transaction.
Market reaction was measured but positive. GPT Infraprojects shares closed at ₹113.05 on the BSE, up ₹2.00 or 1.80%. This follows a strong week where the stock snapped a five-day losing streak with an 11% jump after the initial order win news broke. The firm had earlier notified exchanges on September 2 that it was the lowest bidder for this specific contract.
This latest win boosts GPT Infraprojects’ outstanding order book to ₹4,992 crore. For fiscal 2027, total order inflow now stands at ₹818 crore. With the infrastructure sector remaining a key focus for government capex, the company’s pipeline continues to grow, supported by recent wins including a ₹199 crore North Eastern Railway bridge contract.
