After the opening wicket partnership of 99, Richa’s final 49* kept the run‑rate high, pushing the target beyond 200 and putting Sri Lanka back on the back foot.
India’s bowlers dominated too—Deepti Sharma took 3/6, while the spin quartet claimed 8 wickets, collapsing Sri Lanka to a meagre 69.
This win lifts India to seven medals overall, matching Pakistan’s two women’s cricket golds and boosting morale ahead of the men’s quarterfinals.
The men’s side, led by Shreyas Iyer, will take on their first quarterfinal on September 28.
