A 23-year-old man, Shaik Nagur Khaja Vali, was found dead after being struck by a train between Charlapalli and Moula Ali railway stations on Sunday. The deceased, a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, was identified through a SIM card recovered from a damaged mobile phone found near the body.
The incident occurred near kilometre number 202/37-39 between the two stations, with railway police stating that the victim was walking along the railway track and may have failed to notice an approaching train from behind, resulting in him being hit.
According to officials, the victim sustained severe head and body injuries and died on the spot. Family members informed police that Khaja Vali had arrived in Hyderabad three to four days ago in search of employment.
The body was shifted to Gandhi Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination, with police stating that the body would be handed over to the family after completion of the postmortem examination.
The railway police are expected to complete their investigation and submit a report, with the family likely to receive the body after the postmortem examination is completed.
