Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma promoted the state as a global hub for agro-based industries at an investor meet in Hyderabad on May 8, 2026, citing crop diversity and investment potential in food processing, cold chains, and spice parks. He highlighted government efforts to build a technology-driven agricultural economy and create jobs through industrial expansion.
The event, held ahead of the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM)-2026 in Jaipur from May 23 to 25, drew representatives of the Rajasthani diaspora, startup entrepreneurs, and investors. MoUs worth ₹200 crore were signed for food parks, seed processing facilities, and food processing units. The government said it is providing transparent policies, infrastructure, and subsidies, including over 65,000 solar pump installations supported by ₹1,000 crore in subsidies.
Sharma cited Hyderabad’s 'lab to land' research model as inspiration for Rajasthan’s push toward dryland agriculture and climate resilience. Officials, including ICRISAT Director-General Himanshu Pathak and Union Minister of State Joraram Kumawat, attended the meet, which included business-to-business interactions. The government will showcase these initiatives at GRAM-2026, expected to draw 75,000 farmers.
