Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol. Thirumavalavan on Saturday formally extended unconditional support to Thamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) for the formation of the government in Tamil Nadu, handing over a written letter of support to TVK representative Aadhav Arjuna. This move provides TVK with the necessary political backing to stake a claim to government formation following the assembly elections.
The development comes amid reports that TVK has secured sufficient legislative support to demonstrate majority, clearing a key procedural hurdle. VCK's endorsement strengthens the coalition prospects for TVK, which emerged as a key player in the post-poll scenario.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the swearing-in of the new Chief Minister could occur as early as Sunday, subject to approval from the Governor. Official announcements are expected once formal communication is received from the Raj Bhavan.
