Karnataka has distributed 6,060 digital title deeds and completed 23,447 Pahani corrections across 11 taluks as part of a large-scale revenue services initiative launched in Kalaburagi on Saturday, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge said. The drive, conducted at Dr. S.M. Pandit Rangamandir, also saw the simultaneous delivery of benefits to 114,337 beneficiaries under the state's land rights program, which Kharge described as its "sixth guarantee."
Kharge credited Deputy Commissioner B. Fouzia Taranum and the revenue administration for resolving long-pending 'darkhast podi' cases, some dating back 40 years, and issuing deeds under Sections 94C and 94CC. He said Aadhaar seeding of RTC records has been completed for 85% of land documents to prevent land grabbing, while the Bhoo Suraksha project has digitized 1.41 crore pages of land records and completed survey work in 453 villages.
Taranum said 330 of 368 identified revenue villages have been officially notified under the Revenue Village Scheme, and 33,940 e-Pauti applications have been processed. Nearly all government land in the district has been geo-fenced under the Land Beat initiative to prevent encroachment.
Kharge compared current compensation figures with those of the previous BJP-led government, stating that ₹2,590 crore in flood and crop insurance compensation had been disbursed in the past three years, versus ₹22 crore under the prior administration. Kalaburagi now ranks second nationally in crop insurance disbursement due to inter-departmental coordination.
The state government will continue expanding digital land services, with officials targeting full Aadhaar seeding and completion of pending revenue village notifications by the end of the fiscal year.
